Quebec Announces the Phase-out of Residential oil-fired heating systems

The installation of oil-fired heating systems will be banned in all new construction projects as of Dec. 31, 2021. Two years later, as of December 31, 2023, installing an oil furnace or replacing one with a fossil fuel furnace in existing buildings will also be prohibited, according to a regulation set by the Quebec government.
